Network upgrade for D E Ford Insurance Brokers

D E Ford had an unstable and relatively slow network, managed mainly internally until Care Micro were invited to appraise and upgrade the system.

Utilising DE Ford's existing hardware platform Care Micro undertook out the following programme of improvements:

• Hardware upgrade to File Server
• Supply and installation of MS Windows 2003 Server OSL, MS Exchange 2003 Server OSL, MS Office 2003 Professional OSL, 40 user, to include:
  
  • Backup device and software
  • Anti-virus software
  • Installation of 3G phones using MS Windows Mobile
• Ongoing hardware maintenance and software support, including remote dial-in for downloading Microsoft upgrades and patches.

The majority of the project work was carried out over a weekend in order to reduce business disruption to a minimum. The work also included the migration of the customer's specialist insurance software onto the new server platform.
